Dr. GeNita Williams

Dr. GeNita Williams (Dr. G) was born, raised, and educated in St. Louis, Missouri. With teaching and leadership certification in MO, IL, and GA, Dr. Williams has been a teacher and school leader for 26 years, with five of those years being an urban middle school turnaround principal. Dr. Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, her master’s degree in education administration, and her Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. Dr. Williams has also been a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. for 29 years. Today, Dr. Williams is a Program Specialist for CLR Leadership Development.

Dr. Williams is also a practicing consultant and mentor in her own business, Girl YOU Betta LLC. She is passionate about providing educational opportunities and access to all learners. Dr. Williams believes the goal of every educator should be to ensure students are learning about themselves, as well as being educated in an environment that validates and affirms each student. Dr. Williams first became acquainted with CCRTL in 2011 when her middle school staff was trained in pedagogy, culturally & linguistically responsive teaching and learning. In February 2024, Dr. Williams became a published author of the first of a children’s book series, The World of GeNie Pearl: A Lesson on Realness. This book series is Dr. Williams’s way of giving back to the CLR community and celebrating cultural behaviors by way of storytelling.
