Lisa Sahasrabudhe is a lifelong educator committed to anti-racist, inclusive, and culturally responsive education. Her career has spanned 37 years, during which she has served as a classroom teacher, K-12 instructional coach, elementary school principal, and Equity and Diversity Officer for the Ithaca City School District, in Ithaca NY.
While serving as an instructional coach Lisa met Dr. Hollie for the first time and engaged in her first coaching cycle. She realized the power of CLR to reach traditionally underserved student populations and positively change teaching and learning outcomes in the classroom for all students.
During her tenure as Equity and Diversity officer for the Ithaca City School District Lisa was instrumental in creating and implementing the school district’s first-ever Micro Credential Program in Culturally and Linguistically Responsive teaching, which focused on 4 areas of professional growth and development for teachers. She worked with the Center for Culturally Responsive Teaching to expand CLR’s impact on teaching and learning in Ithaca.
Lisa and her husband have three children and two granddaughters, she lives in Ithaca NY. She recently retired from NY State public schools and currently serves as a CLR practitioner for CCRTL.
