In Praise of Global Dexterity

In doing research for CLR some time ago, I discovered an ally or parallel to my work in Andy Molinsky. He wrote the book Global Dexterity, which if you read it is almost a twin of CLR. Andy’s audience is much broader in that it is international and usually more specific to the business world. But his definition of Global Dexterity directly aligns with my notion of situation appropriateness and his focus on cultural behaviors versus races or even ethnicities is similar as well. If you want to check out CLR through a different lens, I highly recommend this book. It will bring you a deeper understanding of CLR. During COVID, I participated in a Global Dexterity Certification class that Andy teaches. It gave me an opportunity to go deeper in his work but also gave me chance to meet him and share with him how our work synced. He agreed and appreciated the connection between the two approaches. I met like-minded practitioners from around the world which is fun. Andy puts out weekly posts/blogs. You can find them at AndyMolinsky.com
