Kelly began her career in education in 2000 as an English teacher in Romania for the United States Peace Corps. She has since worked as a reading and language arts teacher in charter, public, and private schools in Minneapolis and St. Paul. In addition to teaching middle and high school students full time at Hill-Murray School in St. Paul, Kelly is a CLR professional development coordinator and practitioner working with teachers on their journey to being culturally responsive.
